Morgan Creek VP Moves to MGM/UA

Terry Curtain is leaving independent producer Morgan Creek, where she was vice president of worldwide publicity and promotion, for MGM/UA Distribution Co., where she has been named senior vice president of worldwide publicity and field promotions.

Separately, Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer Inc. has named Alan Cole-Ford to the new position of executive vice president for strategy and development.

MGM/UA--The name of Terry Curtin, new senior vice president of worldwide publicity and field promotions for MGM/UA Distribution Co., was misspelled in Friday’s editions.

* Youngheart Music has named Jim Recor general manager.

* Castle Rock Entertainment has named Carlos Perez vice president of administration.

* Robert M. Cheren has been retained as executive consultant for distribution and marketing at Interfilm Technologies.

* MCA’s music group said its Uni Distribution Corp. has named Vaughn Thomas senior director of product development for black music. Also, MCA Records has promoted Tom Rowland to director of film and television licensing, special markets and products. Robin Kaye has been named manager of film and television licensing, special markets and products.

Separately, MCA Music Publishing announced a worldwide publishing deal with Grammy-nominated songwriter Allan Rich.

* Paramount Technology Group in Palo Alto has named McKinsey & Co. executive Gregory W. Slayton vice president of business development and finance.

* Columbia Pictures has promoted Robin Russell to executive vice president of business affairs.
