Greg Norman hit all 18 greens in a round of 68 that put him in a tie for second with Vijay Singh, Scott Simpson and Larry Mize, who had arthroscopic surgery on his right knee only nine days ago.

Caroline Keggi, who contracted E-Coli bacteria from drinking water at this tournament last year, shot a six-under-par 67 to take a one-stroke lead after one round of the LPGA Standard Register Ping in Phoenix. Sharing second at 68 were Connie Chillemi, Kelly Robbins and Val Skinner.
