Allen Kovac continues to be one of the hottest managers in the music industry. Kovac, credited for the comebacks of clients Meat Loaf and Duran Duran, has just signed Luther Vandross, who ended his 14-year relationship with Shep Gordon. Insiders say Vandross’ next album will feature standards as well as a duet with Mariah Carey and may finally be the project to push him into the superstar stratosphere. Meanwhile, Kovac, who recently signed John Mellencamp, is rumored to be one of the prime candidates to sign Best New Artist Grammy winner Toni Braxton.
