Caltrans officials announced that concrete median barriers will be installed in Santa Clarita beginning this summer.

The California Transportation Commission on Thursday allocated $1.4 million to install a concrete median barrier along a 3 1/2-mile stretch of the Antelope Valley Freeway in Santa Clarita.

The work will take place between the Santa Clara River Bridge and the Soledad Canyon Road under-crossing. Work on the project will begin next July and is expected to be completed by September, the agency said.
