SOUTHEAST AREA : Students Can Paint Their Way to D.C.
Rep. Lucille Roybal-Allard (D-Los Angeles) is urging high school students to submit entries for her district’s first art competition designed to recognize the Southland’s aspiring painters and sculptors.
Roybal-Allard’s office at 255 E. Temple St. will accept paintings, drawings, collages and prints from high school students through May 6. Entries must be taken from an original concept, not reproduced from any existing photo or painting.
The local competition is part of a national contest that will culminate in an awards reception in Washington later this year. The winner in Roybal-Allard’s 33rd District will attend the ceremony and have his or her artwork on display at the Capitol.
