HUNTINGTON BEACH : Special Meeting Set on Downtown Plan
The City Council is going into extra innings.
A lengthy agenda on Monday night prevented the council from completing all its scheduled business. So the members voted to hold a special meeting at 6:30 tonight at City Hall to complete action on the remaining items.
The thorniest item remaining before the council is a proposal for changes in the downtown master plan for redevelopment. Parking problems are among the controversies involved in the proposed changes for downtown.
The council also will consider launching the second phase of streamlining traffic on Beach Boulevard. The traffic project is part of a countywide effort to improve Beach Boulevard into a so-called “super street.”
