AT&T; Will Sponsor Iwerks Theaters on Tour

Iwerks Entertainment Inc. in Burbank said its Iwerks Touring Technologies division has signed a $1-million promotional sponsorship agreement with American Telephone & Telegraph to sponsor Iwerks portable simulation theaters in a national tour.

The theaters, called Iwerks Reactors, include hydraulic seats, digital multichannel sound and high-definition images.

Iwerks, which develops special-format movie theaters and virtual-reality attractions, also said that two of its simulation theaters have opened at Paramount Communications Inc. theme parks in Santa Clara and Cincinnati, and two others will open in May at a Paramount park in Toronto.
