SANTA ANA : Bicyclist Killed After Being Struck by Car
A bicyclist was killed Monday morning when he ran a red light and was struck by a car, police said.
Santa Ana Police Sgt. Don Robertson said the man, who was not identified pending notification of relatives, was struck by a car about 6:50 a.m. at the intersection of Ross and 17th streets.
The bicyclist was crossing against the light while riding south on Ross when a car traveling east on 17th struck him. He was taken to a local trauma center with massive head injuries, where he died several hours later.
He was not wearing a helmet, Robertson said. The driver was not cited.
