WESTMINSTER : Open Enrollment Begins Monday

Parents of the Westminster School District may apply to send their children to any district school during the open enrollment period from Monday to April 29, a spokeswoman said.

Applications are available at all district schools.

To apply, parents must fill out the form and have it signed by principals at both the home school and the new school. Forms should be returned to the student’s home school. Parents will be notified by May 13 whether the request has been approved, said district spokeswoman Audrey Brown.

“This is an opportunity that many of our parents still don’t know about or understand,” said Assistant Supt. Barbara Fileto.

She said the program “gives great flexibility to parents who, for example, may need to find a school near their day care provider.”
