COLOR IT BIG: The lineup for July’s Orange County Fair includes more superstars than ever (F26). More variety too. It opens with Color Me Badd on July 8 and ends with Crystal Gayle on July 22. . . . In between are people like pianist-TV host John Tesh, the Neville Brothers, rapper Queen Latifah and country’s Restless Heart. This year, all acts are at the Pacific Amphitheatre. Says spokeswoman Jill Lloyd: “We’ve spent more money this year trying to provide more top entertainment.”

ANOTHER LOOK: The family of Gloria Ramirez, who died at Riverside General Hospital in February on the same night that mysterious fumes forced evacuation of its emergency room, has hired forensic pathologist Richard Fukumoto of Orange County to conduct a private autopsy today, now that her body has been released to them (A3). Fukumoto is a veteran of the autopsy table. He has performed thousands of autopsies for the county since the early ‘60s. Deputy Dist. Atty. Bryan Brown has said of him: “We’re blessed in this county, but Fukumoto is just the best there is.”

CODY’S MOVIE: A funny thing happened when Madison Allen of Laguna Niguel boarded his 1-year-old wolf-hybrid dog Cody at a friend’s kennel in Corona last year: Cody got discovered. Producers wanted him for “White Fang 2”--a sequel--which opens at 20 theaters in Orange County today (F6). . . . Allen, a 22-year-old Saddleback College student, says he loved being on the movie set in Canada last year: “Cody loved it too. They train by food reward, and he got to eat all the time.”

RED FLAGS: If you see someone at work wearing a red plastic nose today, it has nothing to do with this being deadline day for taxes. Red Nose Day USA is to call attention to sudden infant death syndrome. . . . Booster Leighann Faley of Mission Viejo has been raising funds selling those noses--and badges that say “I’m too chicken to wear a red nose.” Says Faley: “You’re going to see red noses all over Orange County today.”
