BASEBALL / DAILY REPORT : AROUND THE MAJORS : Rangers Raise Rails After Woman Falls
The Texas Rangers raised the right-field upper deck railings at the Ballpark in Arlington before Thursday’s game against Milwaukee in response to an opening-day accident.
The railings were elevated from 30 1/4 inches to 42 inches by using temporary rails. The new permanent railings will be 46 inches tall.
After Monday’s home opener, 27-year-old Holly Minter of Plano, Tex., fell from the original lower railing while posing for a photo. Minter fell 30 feet to the lower deck, breaking three ribs and an arm.
