Wilson Names 4 to County Fair Board

Gov. Pete Wilson’s office has announced its 1994 appointments to the Ventura County Fair Board, which helps administer the Ventura County Fairgrounds and the annual Ventura County Fair.

Ventura lawyer Dennis Orrock and Ventura resident Diane Starr, deputy director of a Van Nuys-based energy conservation company, were reappointed to four-year terms.

The governor appointed as first-term directors Georgia Mahan of Somis and Virginia Weber of Ventura.

Mahan is vice president of Mahan Inc., a real estate and farming company, and Weber is an administrative aide with the Ventura County Early Start Program.

Appointments do not require legislative confirmation, and directors are not paid for their services.

Other directors serving on the nine-member board are Rob Frost of Santa Paula, whose term expires in 1995; Tony Grey of Oxnard, whose term expires in 1997; board President Earl McPhail of Santa Paula, whose term expires in 1996; Tom Pecht of Oxnard, whose term expires in 1995, and Charles Schwabauer of Moorpark, whose term expires in 1997.

The 1994 Ventura County Fair will be held Aug. 17 to 28.
