ALISO VIEJO : Workshops to Focus on Parks, Recreation

A series of workshops to shape the future of the community’s parks and recreation begins April 26 at Aliso Viejo Middle School.

Run by the Aliso Viejo Community Assn., the first session will focus on the community’s master plan process and other local issues.

The workshop will be at 7 p.m. in the multipurpose room at the middle school, 111 Park Ave.

Topics will include development of open space, hiking trails, sports and park facilities, construction of a library and a town center.

From Saturday to April 30, a random telephone survey will be conducted in Aliso Viejo between 7 and 9 p.m. to gather information about parks and recreation issues.

The workshops will be run by RJM Design Group Inc., a consultant hired by the Aliso Viejo Community Assn. to help draft the community parks and recreation master plan.

The sessions will take place at the middle school. Future dates are May 11, May 15, June 4 and July 18.

The meetings will start at 7 p.m., except for the June 4 workshop, which will start at 10 a.m.
