Charles R. Taylor; Baptist Minister Heard on TV, Radio

Charles R. Taylor, 79, Baptist minister heard on television and radio specializing in Bible prophecy. Taylor was born in Zion, Ill., and educated at the religion-oriented Wheaton College in Illinois. For more than four decades, Taylor was based in Orange County, where he published Bible Prophecy News and conducted a radio and television ministry. Until precluded by illness about a year ago, he appeared weekly on the Tustin-based Trinity Broadcasting Network telecast to stations across the country. Taylor continued his radio sermons until recently. One of his best-known followers was Rollen Frederick Stewart, who became known as “Rainbow Man” for wearing multicolored wigs and T-shirts imprinted with Bible verses and for flashing religious placards at televised sports events.
