PALOS VERDES PENINSULA : Retired Educator to Be Interim Schools Chief
Erwin N. Jones, a retired superintendent from Covina, has been appointed interim superintendent of the Palos Verdes Peninsula Unified School District.
He will fill the position vacated by Michael W. Caston last month.
Jones has held interim superintendent positions for the Covina Valley Unified, West Covina Unified and Central school districts since his retirement in 1986. He is expected to work in Palos Verdes for five or six months.
The board is working with superintendent search firms to find a permanent replacement for Caston, who is now superintendent with the Santa Barbara School District.
