HUNTINGTON BEACH : Session to Examine Zoning Code Change

Share

The City Council will hold a study session at 6:30 tonight to discuss a proposed overhaul of the city’s zoning ordinance.

The event is open to the public, but unlike regular meetings of the council, the study session does not include a forum for public comments.

Such comments will be received at a public hearing later this year, city officials said.

Susan Pierce, an associate planner on the city’s staff, said the proposed overhaul would be of zoning regulations dating back to 1946.

“The ordinance code has become difficult to understand and contradictory,” Pierce said. “In addition, it contains many out-of-date provisions.”

The session will be held in Room B-8 at City Hall, 2000 Main St.

A copy of the proposed new zoning ordinance is available for public viewing in the city clerk’s office at City Hall and at the city’s Central Library, 7111 Talbert Ave.
