Marvel Comics Gives Stan Lee Lifetime Deal

Marvel Comics Chairman Stan Lee, creator of Spider-Man, X-Men and the Incredible Hulk, is being given the super-hero treatment by parent Marvel Entertainment, which announced Monday that he is getting a lifetime contract.

Lee, 71, is also chairman of Marvel Films, which develops and produces television and film projects based on Marvel characters. Lee works in Los Angeles as co-executive producer of four animated television series--Spider-Man, X-Men, Fantastic Four and Iron Man--and works on developing various film projects.

He joined Marvel in 1939 when it was Timely Comics. Terms were not disclosed.

* A&M; Records has restructured and expanded its sales department, naming Jeff Dean national sales director and Al Marks national director of field sales and marketing.

Also, A&M; named Robin Lunine Kirby its West Coast regional sales director and Mike Regan its director of product development.

* MCA appointed George Brenner vice president and chief information officer. John Surabian has been appointed vice president of corporate risk management at MCA/Universal.

* Tracy Mosh has moved from Jonas Public Relations to PMK Public Relations, where she is a senior account executive.
