COMPTON : 10 City Offices Served Subpoenas in FBI Probe

The FBI served subpoenas on 10 Compton city offices and departments this week as part of a federal probe, a city official said Wednesday.
The investigation is targeting the former mayor, U.S. Rep. Walter R. Tucker III (D-Compton), and former City Councilwoman Patricia A. Moore, sources said.
The subpoenas result from an undercover federal agent posing as a businessman and offering Tucker, Moore, and perhaps other officials, bribes to have items placed on the council agenda, sources said.
City Clerk Charles Davis verified that the subpoenas were served on his office, the offices of the city manager, city attorney, treasurer and grants manager, as well as the Community Redevelopment Authority and the Personnel, Police, Public Works and the Planning departments.
Campaign disclosure statements for Tucker and Moore, and possibly other politicians, from 1985 to the present are among the documents requested by May 5, sources said.
Moore has denied any wrongdoing. Tucker has referred all questions on the matter to attorney Johnnie L. Cochran Jr., who declined to comment.
