SANTA PAULA : Motorcyclist, 19, Hurt in Accident Dies
A 19-year-old Santa Paula man died early Sunday, more than a week after suffering major head injuries in a motorcycle accident at a Santa Paula store parking lot, Deputy Coroner Craig Stevens said.
Brian Lister succumbed to blunt head injuries at 3:10 a.m., Stevens said.
Lister was discovered after his accident by Santa Paula police about 6:30 p.m. April 22 in the rear of the K mart parking lot near Faulkner Road.
There were no witnesses, but police said Lister was probably driving through the parking lot when he lost control of the motorcycle, fell to the pavement and hit a curb.
Lister, who was not wearing a helmet, was transported to Santa Paula Memorial Hospital.
He was later transferred to Ventura County Medical Center, where he had been listed in critical condition in the intensive care unit for 10 days, a nursing supervisor said.
