3 L.A. Men Held on $100,000 Bond in Vegas Casino Robbery

Three Los Angeles men charged in the April 24 robbery of the casino cage at Harrah’s Hotel in Las Vegas were ordered held on $100,000 bond each, with the provision that a judge must approve any bond posted.

Kemeo Wright and Maurice Carter, both 19, and Damon Littlejohn, 20, appeared Monday in Las Vegas before Justice of the Peace William Jansen in their first court appearance on the robbery charges. They were ordered held on bond pending a May 16 preliminary hearing.

The three men were arrested minutes after the robbery, along with two 17-year-olds, also of Los Angeles. The two were released from the Clark County Detention Center on Friday and turned over to juvenile authorities, according to Las Vegas Metro Police Lt. Mike Hawkins.

Jansen said he did not want Wright, Carter and Littlejohn released without his knowledge.

“It’s my understanding there’s several hundred thousand dollars still outstanding,” Jansen said. “If anybody attempts to come in with $100,000 bail, it’s not to be accepted until I review it and determine where the money comes from.”

The five Los Angeles residents were arrested at the end of a police chase shortly after the Harrah’s robbery. About $100,000 was reported taken in that robbery, and $158,000 was stolen from the Flamingo Hilton casino cage 48 hours earlier.

Hawkins said the money was passed off to one or more suspects who escaped and has not been recovered.
