WOODLAND HILLS : Library Repairs Will Affect Pierce Session

Share

Los Angeles Pierce College summer school will start two weeks ahead of schedule to accommodate repairs to the school library caused by the Northridge earthquake.

Summer session will start on June 13, instead of June 27, and end on July 22.

The construction, which is scheduled to take four weeks, will begin as soon as summer session is over, and be completed by the beginning of the fall semester. The library will remain open throughout the summer session, and will be closed during the four-week construction period only.

Pierce President Mary E. Lee said the school decided to repair the library after the summer session because temperatures are lower in June than in August.

Last spring, summer school was almost canceled because of budget difficulties, but was reinstated after students complained.
