Sixteen West Valley homeowners associations will meet with Mayor Richard Riordan on Monday in Woodland Hills to hear about several aspects of the city budget.

“He’ll be bringing to the community key features of his budget,” said Bob Gross, president of the Woodland Hills Homeowners Organization. “I think it’s significant that the community has an opportunity to get involved at this level.”

Mayor’s meeting: A story in Saturday’s edition of The Times left out the time of an upcoming meeting of 16 West Valley homeowners associations with Los Angeles Mayor Richard Riordan. The meeting, which will include a short question-and-answer period, will be held at 6:30 p.m. Monday at Francis Parkman Middle School, 20800 Burbank Blvd., in Woodland Hills.

Gross said it will be the first such West Valley community meeting with a mayor in his memory.

City Council members Marvin Braude, Laura Chick and Zev Yaroslavsky will make brief remarks before the mayor gives a short presentation, Gross said. The mayor will then hold a short question-and-answer session.

Riordan’s remarks will concentrate on controversial budget issues, including the consolidation of municipal agencies and repairing and maintaining the city’s infrastructure, Gross said.

The meeting, which is open to the public, will be held at the auditorium at Francis Parkman Middle School, 20800 Burbank Blvd. Parking will also be available across the street at the Kaiser-Permanente medical facility.
