Ventura College Job Faire Set Wednesday

More than five dozen companies are scheduled to participate in the Ventura College Job Faire, an annual career day that attracts hundreds of students and employers from throughout Ventura County.

The job fair will be held from 10 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Wednesday in the quad area of the Ventura campus.

“The fair is designed to give employers a wide cross-section of area residents interested in employment opportunities,” said Rheda Gomberg, a career resources specialist at Ventura College.

“People come from as far north as Santa Barbara and as far south as the San Fernando Valley,” she said.

Companies such as Kinko’s Service Corp., Packard Bell and Farmers Insurance have agreed to participate, as have numerous local retailers and service industries.

Job fair organizers are seeking more local firms that may be looking to hire. Employers will be asked to bring job applications and job descriptions.

Tables and chairs will be provided for displays and a continental breakfast and buffet lunch also will be offered at no charge to participating employers.
