THE REGION : Volunteers Sought for Eyeing Weather Threats
The National Weather Service is looking for volunteer spotters to report potential mudslide and flood dangers in the foothills of the San Gabriel Mountains from Altadena to Monrovia.
An orientation meeting is scheduled 7 to 9 p.m. Monday at the Community Disaster Recovery and Preparedness Center, 3746 Foothill Blvd., Pasadena. At future meetings, about 20 volunteers will be trained to spot unusual weather conditions and read weather instruments.
