VENTURA : Police Seek Man in Fatal Shooting
Police are looking for a 46-year-old Ventura man in connection with a fatal shooting at a Ventura mobile home park.
Raul Cervantes Viveros, who witnesses said shot and killed his neighbor Juan Vargas on Sunday, has fled the area, Sgt. Bob Anderson said.
“He’s still at large, and we’re doing our best to locate him,” Anderson said.
Witnesses at the Vargas home in the Victorian Park mobile home park said Viveros was drunk and began a fistfight with Vargas after the victim refused to turn down music at his house.
Vargas’ wife, Racil, said that 10 minutes after the fight, the fieldworker left and returned with a shotgun, killing her husband.
Viveros’ car was abandoned in the Wagon Wheel Road area of Oxnard, police said.
