An East Los Angeles woman who rushed to help her dying son was wounded by the teen-agers suspected of killing him, authorities said Sunday.

Enrique Rayas, 20, was stabbed to death on the sidewalk outside his home in the 100 block of South Record Street late Saturday. He was pronounced dead at East Los Angeles Doctors Hospital, sheriff’s Deputy Britta Tubbs said.

When Rayas’ mother, Maria Ramirez, 42, left the house to go to her son’s side, she was stabbed twice by the attackers, who fled, investigators said.
