Cruttenden & Co.: The brokerage and investment banker said Wednesday it has opened an office in Menlo Park to serve its clients in the San Francisco Bay Area.

H.D. Thoreau has been appointed managing director of the office, which will offer corporate financial services, private placement financing and advisory services.

Cruttenden, based in Irvine, specializes in financing for companies with annual revenue ranging from $5 million to $100 million, most of them in the western United States.
