LAGUNA BEACH : Commission Seats Open to Residents

Residents interested in applying for positions on the city’s Arts, Open Space or Planning commissions have until June 16 to apply.
Planning commissioners are charged with reviewing the way land is used within the city, including making recommendations to the City Council about general plan amendments and zoning laws. They are paid $60 per month.
The arts commission advises the City Council on matters involving artistic endeavors in Laguna Beach. Members are paid $40 monthly.
Open space commissioners help preserve undeveloped areas through advance planning, fundraising and land management. They are also paid $40 per month.
Residents wishing to apply for any of these positions can pick up an application at the city clerk’s office at City Hall. Applicants will be interviewed by the City Council on June 21 at 6 p.m. For more information, call (714) 497-0705.
