Trinity Johnson had a two-hitter as Fullerton (35-29) beat Northridge, 2-0, in the first game Sunday, forcing a winner-take-all championship game.
UCLA defeated UNLV, 2-1 and 3-2, in Columbia, S.C., to win Region 4.
Jennifer Parker’s two-run double in the third inning of the second game gave third-ranked Northridge (49-8) a 2-0 lead. In the fourth inning, center fielder JenFleming, who went four for six on the day, hit a two-run home run.
“We’ve never been swept at home, on the road, anywhere,” Fleming said afterward. “We’ve never lost two in a row. It just wasn’t going to happen.”
Northridge’s Amy Windmiller (24-2) threw a three-hitter, striking out five.
