Polskys Reach Truce in Battle Over Name

Share

Two unrelated lawyers named Polsky who have been warring in the courts over use of that surname may have found an uneasy compromise. At least the signs point that way.

Alexander Polsky, a Long Beach lawyer who is running for Municipal Court judge, has put up new campaign signs around town, including his first name.

And Trudy Polsky, a real estate attorney and Long Beach City College trustee, has put her lawsuit on the back burner--for now.

Friction between the Polskys began when Alexander Polsky posted signs around town advertising “Polsky . . . Municipal Court Judge.” Trudy Polsky said he was attempting to cash in on her name recognition and filed a lawsuit, asking that he be forced to include his first name.

Trudy Polsky said she has taken her motion off the court’s calendar.
