Bonds for Quake Cost

Re “Sadly, Prop. 1A Is Needed,” editorial, May 18:

It is truly sad that the Legislature and governor always want to pay present-day expenses with future tax revenues. We paid for the San Francisco quake with a temporary tax, why not again? Proposition 1A should be rejected by the people as a message to our elected officials to go back and do their job right.

It is time we in California quit robbing our children and grandchildren to pay our expenses; the federal government does a completely adequate job of that already.
