Concert Will Honor Porter
A birthday celebration honoring composer-lyricist Cole Porter, who would have been 102 on June 9, will be held Monday at DeMario’s, in the Monarch Bay Plaza, 17 Monarch Bay Plaza, near Crown Valley Parkway and Pacific Coast Highway in Dana Point.
Singers Stephanie Haynes and Dewey Erney will lead the festivities, accompanied by pianist Karen Hammack and bassist Jack Prather.
The group promises such Porter classics as “Night and Day,” and “Begin the Beguine,” as well as lesser-known Porter works.
Shows are at 7 and 9:30 p.m. Admission is $5. (714) 240-9436.
