Ivan Stewart of Alpine, Calif., celebrated his 49th birthday by winning the SCORE Tecate Trophy-Truck section of the Baja 500 off-road race Saturday night.

Driving a modified Toyota, Stewart won the Baja race for the fourth consecutive time and seventh time overall.

Stewart averaged 45.638 m.p.h. in covering the 465.3-mile Baja California course in 10 hours 11 minutes 43 seconds.

John Swift of Oxnard, driving a Ford Ranger, finished second, with Roger Mears of Bakersfield third in a Chevrolet.
