SIMI VALLEY : Loans to Help Firms Damaged in Quake

Small business owners in Simi Valley in need of a financial boost to help repair damage caused by the Jan. 17 earthquake may be eligible for loans from the city.

Owners of businesses with up to 20 employees are invited to apply for short-term loans of up to $2,500 out of a special fund the city has created with money from a federal Community Development Block Grant.

A total of $75,000 is available in interest-free loans, payable in 18 months.

Applications are available at the city’s Department of Environmental Services, 3855 Alamo St., and at the Emergency Services Center, 59 Tierra Rejada Road.
