Robber Confronts Man at Carport, Takes Vehicle

HUNTINGTON BEACH — An armed man surprised a motorist returning home Thursday afternoon, ordered him out of the car and then escaped in the vehicle, police said. The motorist was not harmed.
Just before 3 p.m., the 57-year-old victim pulled his 1990 Honda Accord into the carport area behind his apartment complex in the 15300 block of Golden West Street, Huntington Beach police Lt. Louis Ochoa said.
A man in his 20s with short blond hair, wearing a white T-shirt and dark baseball cap, pointed a blue steel automatic pistol at the motorist and ordered him out of the white, four-door vehicle, police said. The gunman then fled.
The vehicle’s license plate is 2TCX389. Anyone with information regarding the theft is asked to call the Huntington Beach Police at (714) 536-5951.
