GLENDALE : Storm Drain Project to Affect Some Streets
Several downtown streets will be reduced to one lane later this summer to make way for the second and third phases of an $810,160 storm drain project designed to solve flooding problems in Glendale’s Civic Center area.
Portions of Wilson Avenue, Isabel Street, Louise Street and Lexington Drive will be cordoned off to one lane and flaggers will direct traffic beginning in early August and ending in December, said Steven Herbert, a spokesman for Los Angeles County Supervisor Michael Antonovich.
Workers will dig up asphalt on the byways during the three-month project and install about 6,000 feet of the Belson Drain--a storm drain designed to pull water down under the street’s surface during heavy rains.
Majich Bros. Inc. of Altadena was chosen by the Board of Supervisors to complete the project.
