ECHO PARK : Drive Aims to Give Graffiti a Brush-Off
Residents can participate in a graffiti paint-out and street-cleaning effort Saturday to beautify their community, officials said.
The Echo Park Improvement Assn., which is sponsoring the beautification drive, has been fighting graffiti sprayed by gang members and taggers for at least three years, said the group’s secretary, Susan Borden.
Anyone interested in joining the paint-out should meet at 8 a.m. at a parking lot at 1160 Glendale Blvd. Paint, rollers and supplies will be provided. A picnic lunch follows the four-hour beautification effort.
