Sales Up, Prices Down for Homes in Simi, Moorpark

Sales of existing single-family houses in Simi Valley, Moorpark and Santa Rosa edged up 2% in April from a year earlier, but the average price dropped 5%.

The Simi Valley-Moorpark Assn. of Realtors said 161 single-family houses changed hands in April, up from 131 in March and 158 in April, 1993. But the average price of a single-family house that was sold in April, 1994, was $210,586, down from $220,591 a year earlier.

Condominium sales in the Simi Valley and Moorpark area were flat in April, as 18 condos closed escrow. In April the average sale price of condos fell 4%, to $130,179 from $135,492 a year earlier, the realty group said.
