That compared to a loss of $246,000, or 9 cents a share, for the same period a year earlier. Sales for the company’s third quarter, which ended April 30, declined 5% to $8.6 million from $9.1 million.
For the first three quarters of its fiscal year, the company recorded a loss of $638,000, or 22 cents a share, compared to a loss of $64,000, or 2 cents a share, for the same period a year earlier. Nine-month sales slipped 5% to $31.3 million from $33 million. The company attributed the sales decline to the closing of seven stores and earthquake damage to its Woodland Hills location.
