BURBANK : City Names Services Director for Libraries
Officials announced this week the appointment of Sandra Christopher as library services director.
Christopher, 52, has been assistant library director for the past 11 years. A former branch services coordinator and librarian in Burbank, Christopher will earn 10% more than she did as assistant director. Her salary will be $71,000 in her first year.
City Manager Robert Ovrom said he will work with Christopher to institute several programs, including increased cooperation with school libraries, upgrading technology and possibly opening Burbank libraries on Sunday.
A longtime Burbank resident, Christopher is active in the American Red Cross, the Burbank Coordinating Council, Burbank City Employees Federal Credit Union and the Friends of the Burbank Public Library.
