SOUTH COUNTY : New Budget Won’t Raise Water Rates

Without raising water rates, the Moulton Niguel Water District board of directors recently approved a $14.9-million budget for fiscal 1994-95, a slight decrease from the current spending plan.

The district also announced that for the third straight year, it will not raise water rates for its 128,000 customers in Aliso Viejo, Laguna Niguel, Mission Viejo, Laguna Hills and Dana Point.

About 1,100 new customers were added and overall, 11 billion gallons of water purchased by the district, an increase of about 163 million gallons. A family of five uses approximately 326,000 gallons annually.
