Irish goalkeeper Pat Bonner and his teammates couldn’t stop talking about the reception they got in the New York-New Jersey area.
“We’d like to go back (for playoff games),” he said. “There were 50,000 Irish there (for the victory over Italy). If we can stay there, it would be great for us.”
Giants Stadium, he said, was fantastic.
“The design was magnificent and it supported that kind of atmosphere. It was mostly Italians and Irish. It wasn’t American people. I must say it was well-organized, So far, everything here has been a dream.”
