“I think we were fed a lot of stories and we believed them. From the fans to the journalists, they began to heap on us a pressure to win or else, to be the world champions. That is where a bit of the disaster was born: We felt good, we had prepared well, but we didn’t assimilate well that label of favorites. We began to think of ourselves as winners, without having played. You hear it, it guides you, and you believe it. . . .”
