WORLD CUP USA ’94 / THE FIRST ROUND : Spotlight : AND THE BEACH IS BETTER

Winning Group F means Belgium would play its round-of-16 match in Orlando, where the heat and humidity might be the worst of all the World Cup venues. But the players have begun to like the place, despite the weather.

Maybe they just like the results they’ve gotten here so far--1-0 victories over Morocco and Holland.

“This (victory on Saturday) was important for Belgium because we have six points, and because a win against Holland is a special game,” Belgian goalkeeper Michel Preud’homme said. “Also, we want to stay here in Orlando. We are very happy to stay here. We like Orlando and we like Daytona Beach.”
