Huntington Beach’s Gonzalez Paces County All-Stars
Tony Gonzalez made a layup with one second left to give a team of Orange County basketball all-stars a 116-114 victory over a team from San Diego County on Sunday at Del Mar Torrey Pines High School.
Gonzalez, from Huntington Beach, finished with 37 points and 17 rebounds and was selected the game’s most valuable player.
He was selected as the MVP of the Orange County all-star game as well as the top player in a game against a Santa Barbara team earlier this month.
Gonzalez’s winning basket came off an assist from Micah Kroeger of Edison.
Kroeger had 22 points and Gil Gonzales of Orange added 13 points.
