Among the Dutch players’ best qualities is their bluntness.
Asked why Dutch teams in the past have been unable to win big games--they lost the 1974 and 1978 World Cup finals--forward Dennis Bergkamp didn’t shy away from the truth.
“We always play enjoyable football and we play too nice,” he said. “Sometimes I don’t think we play tough enough defense.”
