Chapman General Hospital: Officials said Wednesday they will begin a $10-million expansion this summer to double the number of its operating rooms and intensive-care beds, and add some facilities.
Chapman, a for-profit hospital owned by OrNda HealthCorp in Nashville, Tenn., said the expansion is intended to meet increased demand for patients seeking preventive medicine and specialty surgeries. The 104-bed Orange hospital said it will continue to operate during the expansion, which is expected to be completed in early 1995.
A hospital spokesman said Pepper West of Irvine will be the general contractor of the project, scheduled to begin in early July.
