Advanced Logic Research Inc., a maker of personal computers, reported Thursday that it expects to report a net loss of less than $1.5 million for its third fiscal quarter ended June 30. Revenues for the quarter are expected to be slightly higher than the $36.1 million the company reported for the same period a year ago.

The company said it expects to report final results in the last week of July. Gene Lu, chief executive of the Irvine-based firm, said he was disappointed with the third-quarter results, but he hopes new products will allow the company to regain its revenue momentum.

For the nine months, the company expects to report revenues of $135 million, compared to $122.5 million for the same period a year earlier. The net loss for the nine months is expected to be less than $700,000, the company said, compared to a loss of $5.8 million a year earlier.
