Canada Sets Shark Limits on Atlantic Coast: The Department of Fisheries and Oceans said the aim of the "Atlantic-wide management plan" for porbeagle, short fin mako and blue sharks is to bring the "unlicensed fishery under control, because shark fishing along the Eastern Seaboard and in the Gulf of St. Lawrence has increased dramatically over the past few years. The shark plan comes two days after Canada rolled back a $1,080 license fee imposed on U.S. Pacific salmon trawlers.
