VISTA Bus Service to Begin Today
Beginning today, Ventura County transit users can take a new bus service that for the first time links all 10 of the county’s cities.
The service, called Ventura Intercity Service Transit Authority, or VISTA, is designed to link residents throughout the county via public transit. It makes its first rounds at 6 a.m.
Buses will run on four connected lines, including a route serving the west county, a line along the Ventura Freeway, a route serving the east county and one connecting Camarillo with the rest of the west county.
VISTA buses are Greyhound-style coaches equipped with reclining seats, reading lights and footrests.
One-way fares for the service range from 75 cents for senior citizens to $1.50 for adults.
Monthly passes, which are also good on city bus lines throughout the county, range from $15 to $34. For schedules and other information, call (800) 438-1112.
